Greetings and welcome to the SDM Research Institute for Biomedical Sciences (SDMRIBS). We are in pursuit of advanced research in the area of biomedical sciences. We aspire to be a leading institute for biomedical research and applications in the country. The institute plays an essential and enabling role for complementing young and dynamic Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University. Research & Development (R&D) is an imperative not just for education and academics but also for every beginner as well as veteran across all specializations. R&D activities leading to original findings, technologies, products, and services will always play a vital role in the growth of an organization as well as the economy of the country. The innovative breakthroughs happen only when there are perseverant efforts by the entire research team including scientists, clinicians, technicians, associated members, and supporters. We at SDMRIBS provide a platform to genuine, young, and enthusiastic minds for creativity and innovation to flourish in their area of specialization and contribute in the organization’s growth thereby nation building.

 

We focus on i) creating a world class research facility that will further enhance research in the area of biomedical sciences and increase the output of patented research attributed to Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, ii) providing a research base for scientists and clinicians to carryout need-based biomedical research, with special interest on diseases of local importance, publish in the high impact journals and further develop efficient health management strategies, iii) developing  a high profile research base to ensure the presence of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University at national and international scientific domain, iv) conducting academic programs for students and scientists in the field of biomedical sciences relevant to industry and v) developing R&D cluster for biomedical sciences in North Karnataka region.

 

Research collaboration with academia and industry is an integral part of our growth strategy. In our pursuit of research in the biomedical sciences, we always look for strategic collaborations with local and international research institutions and industry with the intention of addressing unmet medical needs and benefiting from multidisciplinary expertise.

 

As the saying goes, "the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single bold step", we have made a spectacular start but there is a long way to go. However, I am confident that with the dynamic and dedicated teamwork we will be able to achieve the set goals of SDMRIBS.
