The major emphasis on research at SDMRIBS is towards biomedical areas such as cell and cell-derived products based on regenerative medicine and non-communicable diseases (NCDs). Regenerative medicine is the branch of medicine that develops to regrow, repair or replace tissues and organs damaged by age, disease, or trauma, as well as to normalize congenital defects. NCDs are steadily increasing non-infectious and chronic diseases due to the result of a combination of genetic, physiological, lifestyle and environmental factors throughout the world.
