Admission Criteria for MBBS Course: Course Duration – 5 ½ Years (Study Period – 4 ½ Years + Compulsory Rotating Internship 1 Year)

For General & Management /Institutional Preference Candidates: Degree / Diploma Programs:
As per the Post Graduate Regulation 2000 of Medical Council of India, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test for eligibility for admission to Post Graduate Courses shall be 50% for General Merit candidates and 40% for the candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes belonging to Karnataka State.
Candidates must meet all requirements stipulated by the Medical Council of India, (National Medical Commission) New Delhi. Accordingly, they should have successfully passed their MBBS from an institution recognized by the Medical Council of India (National Medical Commission) New Delhi and must have completed or completed their internship (before stipulated date) by 30th April of that calendar year.
Medical Council of India Norms: (National Medical Commission Norms)
Every student, selected for admission to the Post Graduate Medical course in any of the Medical institutions in the country, shall possess recognized MBBS degree or equivalent qualification and should have obtained permanent registration with the Medical Council of India (National Medical Commission) or any of the State Medical Council or should obtain the same within one month from the date of admission, (within 07 days from the date of admission in this institution.) failing which the admission of the candidate shall be cancelled.
In the case of a Foreign National, the Medical Council of India may, on payment of the prescribed fee for the registration, grant temporary registration for the duration of the Post Graduate training restricted to the college/institution to which the applicant is admitted for the time being exclusively for Post Graduate studies. Temporary registration to such foreign national shall be subject to the condition that such person is duly registered as a medical practitioner in his own country from which he/she has obtained his / her basic Medical qualification and that his / her degree is recognized by the corresponding Council or concerned authority in India.
