The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister, Jayakumar Gore, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is determined that everyone in the country must get a home of their own. Chief Minister Devendra is paying particular attention to the quality and speed of the building of houses in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. It was announced by the PM of India that the construction of the house should be done with high quality and speed.

A review meeting of the Konkan Division related to the rural development and Panchayat Raj Department was held at the Ministry. Benefits

  • Monetary assistance of ₹120,000 per unit for flat areas and monetary assistance of ₹130,000 per unit for areas with hills and challenges.
  • Potential beneficiaries can avail themselves of institutional finance (loan) of up to ₹70,000 at a low interest rate of 3% for the building of permanent residences.
  • The maximum principal amount admissible for assistance is ₹2,00,000. The minimum size of the house shall be 25 square metres, including a separate space for cooking clean food.
  • Coordination with various government programs for water pipes, electric connection, clean and reliable cooking fuel, social and liquid waste treatment, etc.
  • Payments are made electronically through Aadhar-connected methods straight into bank or post office accounts.
  • Along with the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, LPG connections have been made available in every house.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to get priority for the Maharashtra Modi Awas Gharkul Yojana, you must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  • The individual must be a permanent resident of Maharashtra.
  • The individual must be from the OBC category
  • The individual must not own a home
  • The individual applying for this Yojana must not be a beneficiary of any other housing scheme of the Central or Maharashtra government.

The main aim of Modi Gharkul Awas Yojana is to provide a fixed (pukka) house with basic facilities to all homeless families on a first-priority basis.
