PARAMEDICAL BOARD COURSES
Para Medical Board of Government of Karnataka has Initiated Para Medical Courses in the line of Government of India Specification to produce Para Medics in the country by awarding in the Diploma in the following Technician courses with the prime objective of Improving the manpower specifically technician in various Medical Colleges, District Hospital, Primary Health Centers, Private Nursing Homes, Private Hospital and Health Care Clinics.

ELIGIBILITY:
  • A Candidate seeking admission to first - year Diploma Course should have passed two years Pre University examination (PUC)
  • A Candidate seeking admission to first-year Certificate Course should have passed SSLC examination
  • Candidate should have studied for 7 years in Karnataka.
  • Age Limit for Admission: The candidate should have attained the minimum age of 15 years as on 31st December prior to the year of admission.  The Upper age limit would be 35 years. In the case of Inservice, SC & ST candidates upper age limit would be 40 years.
DURATION OF THE COURSES:
  • The duration of the above courses will be for two years for PUC candidates.
  • The candidates with SSLC qualification shall study for three years. English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology of PUC standard shall be taught in the first year of the course to these students.
DRESS CODE:
  • The admitted candidates have been prescribed the following dress code:
  • Common for both Boys and Girls.
  • Uniform with Blue Collared White Apron and Identity Card issued by the Institution.
SCOPE:
They learn the technology and skills irrespective of areas of training to become a full pledge Medical Technician.    
 
JOB OPPORTUNITY:
Soon after completion of the course Technicians will have demand in Medical Colleges, District Hospitals, Nursing Homes, Private Clinics and Hospitals, They also can work in corporate Diagnostic Laboratories, Research Institutes, Military Services, Polyclinics & Emergency Care Centers.      
 
CODE OF CONDUCT:
A student is expected to maintain a very high standard of etiquette and conduct during the period of his stay in the college. Disruption in the discipline of any kind is liable for punishment, which may range from suspension to even termination from the College. Ragging is strictly prohibited in the College. There exists an anti-ragging committee in this college to prevent such incidents.
Warnings
RAGGING is not only an antisocial activity but also a criminal offense.  SDM Campus is declared a ragging free zone.  The management and the students have strived hard so far to maintain this status.  Any activity which may be construed as ragging will attract a severe action including expulsion and criminal charges.  The students and their parents/guardians are made to give an understanding every year towards anti-ragging commitment.  Also, the campus not only has the Anti-ragging Committee as per regulatory body requirement, which includes the local police and others but also has constant vigil by the staff and security.
Prohibitions
  • Non-vegetarian food is NOT allowed in the Campus
  • SMOKING, GUTKA, PAN, ALCOHOL, AND DRUGS are BANNED
  • KEEPING MOTORCYCLES AND MOTORCARS by students staying on campus is not allowed.  Instead, BICYCLES AND UMBRELLAS are provided free for use within the Campus
FACILITIES:
Hostel
Separate hostel facilities for Boys and Girls are available within the college campus. The hostel facilities are consisting of a recreation room, phone facility, provision for indoor and outdoor games, and even reading room. A common mess is also available apart from various other eat outs in and around the campus.
 
Library
The college has a good collection of national and international editions of books in its library. It also subscribes to many national and international journals to keep the students and faculty members abreast of recent developments in the field of paramedical. There is provision for audiovisual and online E-mail facility. 
 
Health
The Health of students is taken care of by medical checkup, vaccination regimes and all students have to take SDM HEALTH CARE cover at the time of admission.
 
Sports
The Department of Physical Education & Sports conducts the Sports events under two main categories,

  • Indoor Sports Activities
 Indoor sports activities are being conducted in accordance with the interest of students:

  • Carom
  • Chess
  • Table Tennis
To keep students physically fit, the following outdoor sports activities are being conducted:

Bank
There is a branch of Syndicate Bank in the hospital building. ATM service is provided by the Syndicate Bank and the State Bank of India within the campus.
 
Student Welfare Office
A Student Welfare Department is formed by the Management so as to know the student's aptitude and problems.  Two Student Welfare Officers are designated from the staff and they function from an office on the first floor of the College.  Apart from being a teaching faculty, they act as a close link between students, parents, and Management.
           
APPLICATIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT COLLEGE OFFICE:
Selection of Candidates will be made on the basis of Merit - Cum - Category through central counseling both at government and institution. Every year, application submission either to the Government or to the institution must be completed by August month.
