About Community Based Rehabilitation Department
The process of learning Community Based Rehabilitation (CBR) as a student plays a vital role; as they emerge to become qualified physiotherapist independent in clinical decision making while rehabilitating long term cases.
Here at SDM, teaching CBR for undergraduate (UG) & postgraduate (PG) students as per RGUHS guidelines is managed by qualified and experienced staff. To enhance the learning experience beyond the classrooms students are being exposed to field activities like:
Out reach camps: Camps in the form of Survey, Screening and Assessment are organised independently or in association with Government body or an NGO. Camps are conducted need based at both urban and rural setup mostly around Dharwad-Hubli cities and associated villages.
Education: Awareness to public is conducted in the form of talks, guest lectures, newspaper articles and radio talks.
Industrial Therapy: Visit to various Industries is conducted to expose the students to work related ergonomics, job site evaluation and modification. They are trained to assess and manage occupational health hazards and provide work conditioning and hardening.
